As the sun sets
I strain my eyes
To capture every moment
Of beauty it unveils.

When the rays are gone
The darkness creeps in
Accompanying the loneliness
That resides in me at times.

The darkness is overwhelming
Scary at the beginning
But a little while later
You get caught up in it so fast.

I grope in the darkness
I look around in ever angle
Hoping to see a ray of light
Waiting for a flicker of hope.

It’s been dark for quite a while now
I still can’t seem to walk away
My mind is disturbed to great lengths
I’m filled with hurt that won’t go away.

I need some light
I want to walk away
But this disturbing and painful darkness
Hurts so much that I keep falling.

In this darkness I reside
At this very moment
I’m standing still and waiting
Till the sun comes up again.
